Since childhood I have been interested in photography and nature. Inevitably the two interests combined into a passion for nature photography.
I have been a member of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) since 1989. I gained my Licenciateship in 1990, my Associateship in 1994 and in May 2006 I was awarded a Fellowship. Both the Associateship and the Fellowship were achieved in the Nature category.
It should come as no surprise to discover that I also belong to the RPS Nature Group. During the 14 years or so of which I have been a member, I have been very fortunate to have forged many new friendships with a number of excellent photographers who have offered encouragement and advice. I first joined the Nature Group Committee in 1993 and since then I have been its Chairman - I currently hold the role of Editor of the group's magazine 'The Iris'.
My photographic interests are not exclusively natural history - I also enjoy landscape and sports as well as a variety of other subjects.
